Researching topics for a book can lead a writer to come across a myriad of unusual and unexpected things. Tonight, I came across this:
I didn’t start out looking for information on frogs, but somehow I ended up finding this little guy’s video. If any frog really could be kissed to turn into a prince, that one would be my pick. 😉
What is the most random turn your research efforts have taken?
Haha that’s such a cute little guy! I’m currently writing a romance set in Hawaii, and it’s quite funny, all of my ads have turned into Hawaiian hotels, tours… It’s giving me wanderlust!

LOL I haven’t had that happen to me yet, but I’m sure it’s inevitable! You know, there really is no substitute for first-hand experience, especially when writing about tropical locations. 😉 Have you ever been to Hawaii?

I have, one of the best trips I’ve ever taken, and so romantic! Definitely couldn’t fight the inspiration to write about it. I feel like Hawaii’s the third character in the story.

I can understand that! I went there for an academic conference several years ago. I didn’t have a lot of time to explore because of work, but what I did get to see left quite an impression!

You’ve gotta head back if you ever get the chance – all the islands have their own character, and so many nature adventures to go on

I would definitely like to go back sometime! I’ve always wanted to see an active lava flow and there weren’t any on Oahu (where the conference was). Plus you can’t beat the fresh squeezed pineapple juice!
